We have been advised by our patients of two very convincing scams, one company has called attempting to sell them a BP monitoring device. The company called on a mobile number and used the following wording:

  • We are working in conjunction with local GP surgeries
  • Used selling tactics to unnerve the patient to scare them into buying the device
  • Stated it was around £80 but in a years time it would be compulsory to use and it would then cost £300

The other call was from a company saying that the Social Services had asked them to call regarding a stair lift in their home and made an appointment to come out and see them to discuss. The patient telephoned the surgery as they were unaware that they had been referred to Social Services.  In this instance they had not been referred so it is very unlikely that the company had any connection with Social Services at all.


Both calls were very professional and convincing. Please be aware that no companies call in conjunction with us and if you receive a call to this nature it is a scam.

2015-16 National Diabetes Audit (20 June to 29 July)

The Practice is participating in this important annual audit which helps to improve diabetic care across the country. It will extract information from diabetic patient medical records which will include NHS number, postcode and date of birth (but not name or address). If you wish to opt out of this audit you may of course do so - just advise one of our team. Electronic Prescriptions are coming...
To ensure that you can continue to receive your prescriptions from our pharmacy please complete an electronic prescription nomination form and return it to our Reception or the Pharmacy. Nomination forms can be obtained by asking at Reception or the Pharmacy. They are also avaialble in the waiting room. Please note you can only sign up to one pharmacy at a time.
